Ink-jet printing combines large-area film fabrication with low-cost solution processing. A high-resolution display calls for small-sized and closely arranged pixels, which can be realised using ink-jet printing. Here, we introduce the relevant steps of printing, namely, droplet formation, falling, hitting substrate, spreading, formation a pixel.
